Stitch settings

Sewing field 3.93 x 3.93 in · design width capped to fit.
Adds an applique underlay: a running placement line, a machine stop to lay your fabric, a zigzag tackdown, a stop to trim, then the full stitch out.
Choosing a fabric preset sets the tackdown and satin values below — thicker material needs a wider, denser edge.
How far the zigzag bites into the applique fabric.
Shorter steps hold thick or fraying fabric tighter.
Widens the finishing satin so thick fabric edges stay buried.
Trim leaves nothing between letters; walking stitches keep the run continuous (short connectors you snip after sewing).
Caps jumps inside one letter or shape — extra ones are sewn as normal stitches instead. 0 = never jump inside a shape.

Preview is always free. Always run a test stitch-out on scrap fabric before sewing onto a finished item.

About the Pic2Stitch Image to Embroidery Converter

How it works

Pic2Stitch analyses your uploaded PNG, JPEG, SVG, BMP, GIF, WebP or TIFF image, quantizes the colours to the nearest thread-palette entries, and traces each colour region into dense satin and tatami fill stitches. Tiny, machine-unsafe stitches are filtered out automatically, so the result is a clean, machine-ready embroidery file you can transfer straight to your machine — no embroidery software required.

Tips for best results

  • Use images with clean, high-contrast edges.
  • Logos and clip-art convert better than photographs.
  • Remove the background before converting for cleaner results.
  • Limit to 6–8 colours to reduce thread changes.
  • Set design width to 80–120 mm for standard 4″×4″ hoops.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Converting and previewing are always free.

What image types are supported?

PNG, JPEG, SVG, BMP, GIF, WebP and TIFF.

Can I split layers into separate files?

Yes — enable "Split into separate files per colour" to download a ZIP with one file per thread colour.

Will the preview match my machine?

The animated preview is generated from the exact stitch list written to the file, so what you see is what your machine sews.
